When you have to look for a hosting company you look at features that you get. The main things are bandwidth, space, mysql databases, domains allowed.
While those are the main features of a web hosting, there are others that have to be checked. Most people ignore them because they think they are not so important, but they are. Read the rest of this entry »
Probably the answer that comes into your mind is: YES. Well, it is a presumption based on several moments in a day when you check if your website is still there.
Has ever happened that you want to check your website and it was down ? Well, too bad for your hosting company. Because, if you enter only several times a day and you managed to find it down, it is very bad and you should consider moving hosting. Read the rest of this entry »
More and more of our daily computer tasks are moving to the internet. Few years ago i used to have a small software for anything: to tell me the weather, to read books, a calendar software, time tracking software. Now, i use all of them online, calendars, time trackers, document editing.
The bad intended persons may lose interest of trying to get into my computer to show me how i can take advantage of the 500$ antivirus which real cost is 1000$. Now the juice is online. WordPress is a very popular blogging platform and recently it is seen as the best content management system around. I can tell you that at least for small websites it is from far the best. I have a question for my fellow voters who own more than 100 websites: How can you handle it ? Well, i don't want to guess that they are only made for spam reasons, or the domains are just brought so others can't get them. Read the rest of this entry »
When it comes to website, they have to be hosted somewhere, on a computer that is always on, called a server. Since it is very hard to keep a computer online always by yourself, there are companies that do this for you, in exchange of a small sum of money.
Well, they are quite a lot of them around here, but who to choose ? The best hosting is the one who fit your website.
Judging on the poll i run here, on the right of the website, asking "How many websited do you own", many people have more that 2 websites. 21% of the voters have more than 100 websites, well, it is unbelievable to think that someone can own 100 websites, but that doesn't mean that he have to take care of everyone, he just own them. Maybe they were created just to promote other websites, but one thing is certain: there are different needs from web hosting. Read the rest of this entry »
