I think it is time to move from Windows Xp

October 16th, 2010

I liked windows XP, it was a good version of Windows. The problems at the start of the XP was terrifying, but with service pack 2 most of the problems were solved. Despite i like windows xp, let's face it, it is not getting any younger. Windows XP is losing popularity.

According to a poll i run on my site, 36% of my readers use Windows 7, and only 26% are using XP. The results of the poll may be not representative for the whole world, but they say something: Windows 7 is more popular right now. What happens ? The advantage that everything works on XP will go away. Software and driver developers will start to support less and less the "old" version of Windows and we will start to have problems.

If the operating system is not popular then probably virus creators don't waste their time to create programs to exploit the vulnerabilities.

Few years ago we had a lot of security problems with windows XP, caused by the weak security measures from the operating system. That was bad and happened at about 2-3 years from the launch. Read the rest of this entry »

Cleaning can make things work better. Think about your work desk. If you have all stuff messed around your work desk, it will be very hard to find what you need. You have to spend time to move all the things to find what you are looking for.

Not a good environment to work. The same applies to your computer. If it runs so many unneeded processes it will be hard to find resources for the main ones. If everything is messed it will be hard to find something. Read the rest of this entry »
